Breaking bread at the most inviting, comfortable tables truly contributes to satisfaction received from comfort foods. What better way to create that ambiance than to secure one-of-a-kind tables at which to enjoy such meals? Local residents have a new option for personalized furniture within The Makers' Market at 230 Franklin Road, via a store recently relocated from Eighth Avenue South. As a local craft furniture maker and furnishings retailer since 1996, all Karmal Skillington-branded pieces are handcrafted from new or reclaimed wood in Tennessee.
"Our team of skilled, artisan builders customize every piece to match the wants and needs of our customers," says owner and Tennessee native Leigh Skillington, who personally designs all pieces created.
Leigh originally opened one of the first eclectic furniture stores in Nashville and quickly grew into producing all styles.
She says the store's crafts team specializes in made-to-order dining and coffee tables, bars, sideboards, kitchen islands, cabinetry, beams, doors, wall accents, flooring, beds, vanities and porch swings. They also supply sturdy American-made chairs, bar stools and custom metal works.
"You think it, we craft it," says Leigh, who enjoys working with customers' photos and sketches to design pieces that best complement space, personality and functionality needs. “We stay challenged and on-trend because we are 100% client-driven.”
She says many clients share fond stories of great memories made around those special tables.
All pieces from Karmal Skillington have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, she adds.
