The Heart of Gathered Goods

Built on a Foundation of Faith and Community

Together, Michelle Barnes and her mother, Darla, have built more than just a store. They have created a vibrant, welcoming space grounded in their shared love of décor and community connection. Through long nights, hard work, and unwavering faith, this mother-daughter duo brought their vision to life, transforming passion into purpose.

Gathered Goods has developed into a well-loved spot in Springdale, but their journey hasn’t been without its trials. When a tornado devastated the first location in Rogers, the future of the store felt uncertain. Through encouragement from the original owners, they began the search for a new home for Gathered Goods, knowing it would take time, faith, and effort to start fresh.

Thanks to a devoted team, including Michelle’s husband whose construction skills were invaluable and vendors from the original location, the dream took shape once again. But this new store would be more than just Gathered Good’s next chapter, it would become a gathering place for a new community. A home to thirty-seven women-owned businesses, each united by a love of design and creativity. The space now reflects the values of faith, resilience, and inclusion that Michelle and her mother hold so dear. But above all, they believe beautiful design should be available to everyone.

At Gathered Goods, the goal isn't just to sell home décor, but help people tell their stories through their spaces. Whether it's a college student seeking budget-friendly pieces, or a first-time homeowner decorating their dream house, the experience is personal. Vendors range in age from their 30s to their 80s, offering an inspiring mix of styles and perspectives that enrich the store’s character.

Every item in Gathered Goods tells a story. From refurbished antiques to creatively repurposed finds, each piece holds history and heart. One remarkable example comes from a Galveston pier, salvaged in the wake of a hurricane. What could have been seen only as destruction was transformed into a stunning bed frame. It’s this kind of vision, turning something weathered into something wonderful, that defines the soul of Gathered Goods.

But what truly sets Gathered Goods apart is the sense of community. It’s not just a place to shop, but it is a place to connect. Vendors act as designers, creators, and problem-solvers, eager to help customers find or reinvent the perfect piece. Children run the aisles, treats in hand, while families linger, never rushed or pressured. Everyone leaves with a smile, and often a piece goes home to begin a new story.

But no matter what is in store that day, faith remains the beating heart of it all. Faith in each other, in their mission, and in the idea that good work done with love will always find its way. Each booth at Gathered Goods is a chapter in someone’s journey and every piece holds another life within it.

As Michelle Barnes & her family team continue to grow Gathered Goods, their mission is unchanged: to provide not just beautiful home décor, but a place where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. In this larger space, the heart of Gathered Goods is stronger than ever and the sense of belonging is palpable. So whether it is old or new, Gathered Goods is sure to have the perfect item for you.

Above all, they believe beautiful design should be available to everyone.
