There is something special about gathering with people who believe in the same community you do.

For Aiken City Lifestyle, the annual Partner Appreciation Event is an opportunity to do exactly that, to bring together the business owners and community partners who continually trust the magazine to share their stories, celebrate their work and help connect them with the people of Aiken.

This year’s gathering felt especially meaningful as partners came together inside Absoulute Audio, owned by advertising partner Shayne Tenace. Located in the heart of downtown Aiken, the space provided a setting that felt both intimate and unforgettable.

Absoulute Audio is much more than multiple beautiful retail showrooms. The thoughtfully designed space can also be rented for private events, offering guests the opportunity to gather while surrounded by incredible sound systems, turntables and, of course, music.

Throughout the evening, the music became part of the experience itself. Guests browsed the record collections, requested favorite albums and listened as selections were played across different turntables and systems. Conversations about business easily turned into conversations about music, favorite artists and memories connected to certain songs.

Adding another layer of beauty was Maggie Rasmussen, owner of Cleanse Gourmet, who transformed the space with an elegant fall-inspired vision. Cream tones were paired with rich burgundy, while figs, pomegranates, pears and seasonal florals created tablescapes that felt warm, decadent and effortlessly beautiful.

She also provided the evening’s food and drinks, carrying those rich autumn details throughout the celebration and making every corner feel intentional.

But perhaps one of the sweetest parts of the night came when guests had the opportunity to create personalized wax sachets. With Maggie’s guidance, each person could choose from beautiful dried florals and other natural elements to design a keepsake of their own. It became more than an activity. It offered another reason to slow down, gather around the table and enjoy creating something alongside fellow members of the Aiken business community.

That sense of connection is precisely why Aiken City Lifestyle owner and publisher Gayle Bryan makes these gatherings a priority.

Partner appreciation is about saying thank you, but it is also about creating opportunities for the people behind local businesses to meet one another, exchange ideas, form relationships and perhaps discover new ways to support each other.

For Gayle, those relationships are at the heart of what the magazine represents.

“I am incredibly thankful for this community and for every business owner who trusts us with their story,” she says. “They allow us into something they have poured their hearts, time and dreams into, and that is something I never take lightly. We get the privilege of sharing who they are, celebrating what they are building and helping connect them with this community. Watching our partners meet each other, support one another and grow alongside one another reminds me that Aiken City Lifestyle is so much more than a magazine. It is a community, and I am deeply grateful to be a small part of it.”

That gratitude could be felt throughout the evening.

There were no sales pitches or formal presentations. Instead, there were conversations between people who might not otherwise have crossed paths, glasses raised in celebration, new introductions and plenty of laughter.

It was a reminder that behind every advertisement is a person. Behind every storefront is a story. Behind every growing business are long days, risks taken and countless hours invested in a dream.

And behind Aiken City Lifestyle is a community of partners who continue to make telling those stories possible.

As we enter a season focused on thankfulness, we find ourselves especially grateful for the people who invite us into their businesses, trust us to help tell their stories and allow us to celebrate alongside them.

Our Partner Appreciation Event was our way of saying something simple, but deeply meant: thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.
