Since 2004, Expert Automotive Equipment has been “The Experts in Garage Parking Solutions.” But Scott has loved anything auto-related since he was a child and started working in the automotive equipment industry in 1985.
What is the best advice you’ve received?
“Life is of service; you only get what you want when you have given enough other people what they want.”
What do you attribute your success to?
The success of my business is due to the people I have working for me. I started out as a small enterprise and have exceeded my expectations of what we would become because of them. It is very rewarding to see them grow and develop into who they are today.
What is something you’ve learned recently that surprised you?
Our large commercial customers have requested we go to other cities and take care of their shops. Our excellence in taking care of them made us realize that we are better than other companies in those locations too.
What are your new customers most interested in learning about your company?
If a lift will actually fit in their home garage.

Why did you start working in this industry?
To help people who were not getting well by just taking another pill.
How does your work tie into your passions in life?
I generally want to see people doing well, and my passion in life has always been to help those in need.
What is the best advice you’ve received?
Saying “no” is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of empowerment.
What do you do to maintain a balanced life?
Make time for myself daily. I cannot help people if I am not well myself.
What is something you’ve learned recently that surprised you?
The idea of slowing down the ketamine drip with the patient and adding counseling to create what we call today “the Ponti Protocol.” This was the missing piece to how ketamine should be administered.
What thoughts would you like to leave with readers?
Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help. There are people who genuinely want to help you. Lastly, please don’t wait until it is too late.

Why did you start working in this industry?
I started to put myself through college working on custom homes and discovered how fun it was. The construction industry is full of some of the smartest, funniest, most energetic, and most talented people in the world, along with being a category that entails every aspect of running a business.
How does your work tie into your passions in life?
I love seeing customers’ reactions and happiness because we truly contribute to a big event in their lives and their families’ lives.
What is the best advice you’ve received?
Don’t let negative people or naysayers rent space in your head.
What is something you’ve learned recently that surprised you?
That my children are way smarter than I was at their ages.

What are people interested to learn about you?
I enlisted with the United States Army in 2000 and completed basic combat training, Advanced Individual Training as a Combat Medic, and Army Airborne School. I served on a forward operating surgical team and was deployed to Afghanistan, providing combat surgical operations in the Kandahar and Khost provinces, before moving to Las Vegas in 2004.
Why did you start working in this industry?
I developed an affinity for law while studying cognitive psychology, the scientific study of attention, perception, reasoning, and problem-solving. Armed with this information, I began evaluating the logic behind American common law, how it is perceived, and the problems it attempts to solve. Unsatisfied with recreational study, I attended law school.
What do you do to maintain a balanced life?
I enjoy time with my wife, my Indian motorcycle, and participating in precision rifle competitions.
