Our friends at Fairfield County Mom knows what it takes to stay organized and keep back-to-school chaos to a minimum.
Top 10 Tips To Get School Ready:
Map out the schedule early. After-school activities, practices, games, school events, etc. Make it accessible to everyone in the family!
Lock in your carpool plan now. Who are you sharing responsibilities with? Confirm.
Use a meal delivery service or “easy dinner” system. This can also include ordering catering trays of food and freezing it for the tough nights!
Do a full closet reset! Get rid of what no longer fits kiddos and replace the items they need. Make a list of who needs what so that while you are shopping, you aren’t left to wonder what fits who!
Create a centralized family command center. A shared calendar, sports bag station, charging area = organization game changer.
Stock up on essentials. Be prepared now with extra water bottles, snacks for on-the-go, sports gear backups. Organize your snack areas so kids can grab-and-go healthy options on the run!
Add cushion time between activities so you’re not constantly racing the clock. And in these quiet moments, don't forget to enjoy the peace!
Schedule one-on-one time with each child. Schedule a date night with your significant other. Schedule a drink with your girlfriends. Put it on the calendar!
Wake up at least 30 minutes before your kids. Give yourself time to wake up and gather your thoughts.
Make a school supply checklist. In mid-August (so you are not scrambling), start ordering and purchasing everything you need! Load it into the backpacks and make sure you have cleaned lunchboxes or purchased new ones!
