The Village Cooperative of Greeley (4527 24th Street Rd.) has been offering an affordable, convenient and vibrant community designed exclusively for active adults aged 62 and better since opening in early 2021.
“It’s the people here that make it such a special place to live,” says Village Co-Op resident and board president Dick Wood.
For resident and board member Jeanne Lipman, “It was the concept of the place that really attracted me. As soon as I went to my first meeting about it, I came away writing a check that same day!”
Calling it “its own city within a city,” Jeanne’s notion of “the concept” includes 52 thoughtfully designed homes ranging from cozy one-bedroom layouts to spacious two-bedroom-with-den options, all within a three-story building that additionally features underground heated parking.
Each residence is fully equipped with modern appliances, private laundry and walk-in closets. Further amenities include a club room, woodworking shop, exercise room, lounge areas, garden plots, guest suites and more to ensure residents can relax, enjoy themselves, connect, discuss and share their daily living experiences with each other to whatever extent they may choose.
At the beginning of the year, in fact, the residents collectively celebrated the Village Co-Op’s fourth anniversary together, adding to the various activities offered, ranging from bible study to movie nights, speaker series and live music performances as well as plenty of structured group conversations about a wide array of topics.
The best part of living at Greeley’s Village Co-Op is, as Jeanne and Dick suggest, “We all work together to take care of the building, and because of that, the building takes care of us. We don’t just ‘live,’ we cooperate!”
