It is the kind of gift shop that makes you want to return again and again; warm, welcoming, with a distinct personality that fits the neighborhood and clientele they are trying to serve.
Valerie Cassady and her daughter Ellie opened PepperLou gifts in 2018. Their goal was to have a boutique gift shop that sold meaningful, thoughtful gifts while showcasing other small businesses. Valerie also wanted to create an environment where Ellie, who has special needs, could thrive and make a contribution.
“We want everyone that stops by, shops online, calls us, scrolls through Instagram, or even hears about us to know that they’re always welcome here,” says Valerie. “Our entire team feels a dedication to each other and our community to create a warm and inviting space for everyone, because inclusivity elevates us all.”
