Its popularity was helped along by the classic clucking bunny TV campaign, which originally made its debut in 1982. The campaign featured a white Flemish Giant rabbit, one that clucks like a chicken, and leaves behind those chocolate creme eggs.
The bunny has been Cadbury’s mascot since practically forever, but the company has gotten loose with their definition of “bunny” over the past few years. Last year, Cadbury hosted Cadbury Bunny Tryouts, and invited all kinds of pets to see if they had what it takes to be a bunny, aka wear fuzzy bunny ears and look cute.
An adorable bulldog named Henri was named the Cadbury Bunny for 2019.
This year, a Brentwood "Bunny" is a finalist for the Cadbury nBunny 2020: a cute hamster named Ginger.
Ginger is actually the pet of 8-year-old Skylar Flanagan, but is a family pet as well...the entire family loves her! When they saw the contest solicitation, they just thought she would make the cutest Cadbury bunny. "We know she secretly always wanted to be famous," says Mara Flanagan. "Being chosen as one of the top 10 finalist out of the 4,000 entries was such an honor! Thank you Cadbury for including us in this fun and exciting contest"!
“My dream has always been to be the Cadbury Bunny! Such an honor to make the Top Ten Finalists!” -Ginger
