That is a quote that many local business owners are taking to heart, and it's really striking a chord with their patrons. When a business donates their time or services to charity, it's not only good for business, it's also good for morale. One company that is doing just that is the Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop with its Pie It Forward program to help improve the local community of Franklin by giving back. Each month, the shop creates a specialty pie for the program, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of that pie is donated to a charity or nonprofit organization within the community. For example, this past September, funds from every peanut butter pie sold were donated to Friends of Franklin Parks.
