For Mandy Puente, owner of Country Roots by Mandy, beauty has always been more than skin deep. What began as a childhood fascination has grown into a full-fledged career of artistry, confidence-building, and connection.
“My journey with hair and makeup began 15 years ago,” Mandy shares. “Then, six years ago, I decided to take it to the next level and attended the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy.” That formal training added a technical foundation to what had already become a deeply personal craft.
“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by the power of transformation,” she says. “How a simple hairstyle or a swipe of lipstick can completely shift someone’s mood or confidence.” It wasn’t long before Mandy became the go-to beauty guru for friends and family, discovering along the way that her passion for making others feel beautiful was more than just a hobby—it was her calling.
Today, Mandy’s chair is a place of transformation, inside and out. “I’m inspired by every person who sits in my chair,” she says. “They become my family as soon as they walk in. I love helping people see the best version of themselves.”
Her signature style? Soft glam. “It’s the perfect balance between natural and elevated—a glowing complexion, soft neutral tones, seamless blending, and just enough definition to enhance your best features without looking overdone.” The look, she explains, is versatile and timeless, ideal for everything from weddings to a night out.
As fall approaches, Mandy is seeing a resurgence of cozy, effortless styles. “Side parts are coming back, along with lots of lived-in texture and modern bobs,” she says. On the makeup side, warm, earthy tones are taking center stage. “Expect terra-cotta, burnt mocha, and deep berry hues everywhere.”
Whether she’s creating camera-ready looks or helping someone feel a little more confident for their everyday routine, Mandy’s goal remains the same: to help each client feel their absolute best.
