For Julie Brown, serving others has never been about recognition. It has simply been a way of life. Whether volunteering in the community, supporting coworkers, or serving through her church, Julie believes small acts of kindness create lasting impact.
Julie and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 42 years and are proud parents of their daughter, Amanda, who lives in San Diego. They also share their home with two beloved cats, Elly and Fei.
Professionally, Julie serves as the office manager for the Allen Economic Development Corporation (EDC), where she is known for her servant leadership and commitment to the community. She is a graduate of Leadership Allen Class 32, the Allen Citizens Police Academy, Allen Citizens Fire Academy, and the Collin County Prosecutors Citizens Academy, experiences that have strengthened her passion for public service.
Julie is an active volunteer with the Allen Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association, where she supports the Allen Fire Department's Steady Together Project. The initiative helps reduce falls among older adults through free in-home safety assessments. Julie visits seniors, identifies potential hazards, and installs practical safety items such as nightlights, nonslip rugs, and cord protectors, helping residents remain safe and independent.
She also represents the Allen EDC in the City of Allen's PRIDE Program, embracing the values of People First, Respect, Initiative, Deliver, and Excel. Julie serves on the Human Resources New Hire Orientation Team, provides EDC tours for new employees, supports numerous city events, and was recognized with the City of Allen Excellence in PRIDE Award for her outstanding service.
Beyond her professional role, Julie volunteers at Boyd Elementary School's Holiday Store, helping students shop for and wrap gifts, and faithfully serves in multiple ministries at her church.
