Govero Salon is excited to announce the reopening of its Clayton location this month, with beautiful new décor, new services, and an even more unique customer experience.
The Grand Reopening is slated to coincide with the St. Louis Art Fair, September 9-11 in downtown Clayton.
Robert Govero founded Govero Salons in May 2011 with a dedication to making them “the best salons in St. Louis by having the most trained and talented staff, great customer service and giving the most fantastic salon experience.”
But in 2020, with 47 on staff at two locations—Clayton and DesPeres--things came to a screeching halt when the pandemic hit. The industry was put to the test over the last couple of years, but Govero Salons has come out on the other side of it stronger than ever…with new innovation and a renewed sense of excitement for the business.
“Covid hit us hard,” says Rob. “Having to operate at only 25% capacity made it nearly impossible for the stylists to make it work for them so many had to leave, and we had to close the Clayton location in November 2021.”
But now with its reopening, customers will enjoy an experience like none other. Rob, and his fiancé Maria Sinito, are truly dedicated to making the customer experience at Govero Salon the most luxurious and enjoyable experience possible.
Customers can enjoy wine, beer and cocktails, peruse the high-end boutique featuring jewelry from The Diamond Family, as well as an exclusive art exhibit by Chris & Rebecca Sabatino. The menu of services will also be expanding to include spray tans, Botox and fillers, threading, and body contouring in their treatment rooms.
And stylists benefit as well, from the innovative business model Rob has implemented at the Clayton salon that’s proving more effective for stylists.
“Our stylists are now independent contractors with an ‘open floor plan’ that includes access to a full-color bar and retail area, so no more shopping for these supplies…billing is automated…and we offer free continued education, coaching and marketing services. We even help them develop a business plan if/when they want to go out on their own,” says Rob.
Rob is an award-winning master stylist and expert in the makeup and salon industry. Over the last 33 years, he has worked for several European and American color lines as an educator and/or attended training with many well-known companies including Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy, Jacque Dessange, Logics, Matrix, Redken, Schwarzkopf and Aveda, Scruples, Keratin Complex, Goldwell, L’Oreal Professional, KMS, Moroaccanoil, Colorproof and now Keune. He was also an educator/trainer for Keratin Complex Smoothing Systems.
In addition to his passion for the salon industry, Rob loves giving back to the community and brings his unique energy, resources and ideas to organizations and causes on a local, as well as a global level. He proudly supports the St. Louis Crisis Nursery and has served on the board of Friends of the Rainforest of Costa Rica.
