AFRICAN AMERICAN RESOURCES CULTURAL and HERITAGE SOCIETY (AARCH)
The AARCH Society identifies, collects, preserves and makes publicly accessible the objects, artifacts and stories about the history, rich heritage and culture, and the contributions of African Americans in Frederick County past and present. The AARCH Society is currently raising funds to open Frederick’s first African American Heritage Center, a public space with interactive exhibits that explore our past and foster new projects that celebrate diversity. Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide weekend food for school children across Frederick County who might otherwise go hungry. Each week of the school year, Blessings and its hundreds of volunteers and partners send a bag of food home over 4,000 children in 30 FCPS schools who are at risk of going hungry when school meals are unavailable.
