Grit and Grace

Sarah Beth Herman is a study in resilience.

It’s nine o’clock on a random Thursday morning and Sarah Beth Herman MBA is the focus of a high-energy photo shoot. It’s a scene of controlled chaos - a far cry from the un-contained chaos and confusion she stepped into at her first job at a dental office when she was just 17 years old.

“I very, very vividly remember there were no computers,” she says with a laugh, “this was like a very old school dental practice, and I was really just going to help file charts. And I remember walking into this back room, and literally, if you think of what chaos looks like in an office where there's stacks of charts and stacks of papers and a desk you cannot see the top of, that's literally what it was like going in there.”

Today, as the CEO of Dentistry Support®️ , she isn’t just filing charts and insurance claims; she’s leading the number one virtual administrative dental team in the world, managing a global workforce that spans nine countries and serves all 50 states.

Sarah Beth’s trajectory is a masterclass in grit and grace, having navigated the kind of rock-bottom moments that break most people. She sent every paycheck from that first dental office job to her mom, who was living in Colorado.

“So at the time, I was actually working three jobs, going to college,” she recalls, “ I was in high school and I was in cosmetology school at the same time.” Her journey included periods of homelessness and a cross-country move. Later, after moving to Arizona, she and her husband lost their entire life savings to a business scam. With ten cents left in their bank account, she started over, using her cosmetology license to find clients before a dental practice in Gilbert hired her through a Craigslist ad. Her career accelerated quickly. Within weeks of joining LinkedIn, she was recruited as a regional director over 32 practices. A few years later, she moved to California to become the chief of training and talent development for dental practices. She then went on to become chief of teasing and talent development for a 45 practice DSO in Beverly Hills.

Seven months later, in 2017, she would once again find herself without a job. She decided to make it her moment. She’d seen firsthand that the dental industry had high front-office turnover. So she poured her two weeks’ severance pay and more than a decade of experience into what would become Dentistry Support®️ .

“My goal was to reduce the amount of money dentists were paying to hire people. And I wanted dentistry to be better.”

Under her guidance, Dentistry Support ®️ is a revolutionized model of remote excellence, proving that distance is no barrier to excellence. Her company was recently recognized with the Better Business Bureau’s  2025 Torch Award for Ethics for its commitment to integrity and client care.

“Winning this award was like everything for me, because I literally built this company, blood, sweat and tears, not sleeping,” she says.

With her inherent grit, grace and grind, Sarah Beth continues to build her brand’s portfolio to include Dentistry Support Academy®️  and Sarah Beth Herman®️  LLC. She also created the number one podcast in the dentistry space. Reaching 40,000 listeners,  No Silver Spoons®️  celebrates success through hard work, offers candid advice and inspiring life stories.

“My single most important mission in life is to leave those around me better than I found them.”
