The Gains
Class Manager Sarah Hyde: “I’ve been Jazzercising for 31 years! I have gained a healthy outlook towards fitness—a basic love of fitness. Jazzercise not only makes fitness enjoyable, but the instructors bring knowledge to the stage, so students gain that knowledge.”
Instructor Heather Pelletier: “I was an athlete throughout school, but I found it hard to stick to a fitness regimen after college. Working out was too boring. But Jazzercise brings the joy with music, dance, and friendship.”
Class Manager Cassaundra Theriot: “I have gained more muscle, more stamina, and most importantly, friendships that are like family.”
Member Cynthia Mejia Guevara: “It’s given me physical and mental strength, great friendships, accountability, and has resulted in a better me. Thank you to the instructors and Jazzercise!”
Member Rhonda Cox: “I’ve gained balance, which is very important as you age. Everyone is accepted at Jazzercise, whether you are old or young, fit or working on it. You can work at your own pace.”
Member Robin Schiller: “The friendships I’ve established over the last 10 years have been invaluable. Another thing I’ve gained from continuing with regular weekly workouts is that I have truly stayed in healthy condition by being taught the proper form and how to exercise safely at age 60.”
The Memories
Member Cara Copeland: “One of my favorite memories is the year a cold front hit and the heater went out. Chrissy and Rob showed up with space heaters, and we danced bundled up until the room warmed—proof of incredible commitment and dedication. Despite the chill, there was warmth and fun.”
Member Alice Jackson: “My favorite memories are the special dance days where we all dress festive and dance to holiday music.”
Member Linda Reeves Wielchowsky: “My favorite memory is the day I returned to Jazzercise after COVID for the first time. As I got out of my car with my water bottle, Gwen Mitchell came running out and gave me a huge hug. I felt wonderful!”
Member Luanne Keenan Miller: “It’s a very welcoming place. My favorite memory is when we met for lunch and I got to know some gals from other classes.”
Member Cheryl Mire: “My favorite memory is after moving to Austin during the pandemic, walking in to join and finding that Stacey Sutton was teaching at this location. We met as class managers over 25 years ago in Houston.”
The Classes
Member Cristina Vasquez-Flores: “I love the camaraderie with all of the Jazzercise community. It doesn’t matter what class you go to, everyone is always happy to help and always happy to see you.”
Class Manager Carol Rogus: “When you are at Jazzercise, you don’t realize you’re working out—you’re just having fun.”
Class Manager Mona Corbett: “I really love the different dance formats, with aerobic, strength, and stretching options incorporated into each class.”
Member Sharon Reeves: “My favorite aspect is the friendships I’ve made and how we all support each other in reaching our goals. Also, the fun and laughs we have in class. We have the most awesome tribe of members.”
Member Katie McClarty: “I love the variety of routines and instructors, and the ability to tailor to any age or ability level. It’s the best hour of the day, and no one dances alone!”
