When it comes to owning a pet, it goes without saying it’s important to treat them right. At Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming in Bridgewater, that means giving them treats that are as nourishing as they are delicious.
“We’re big believers of offering healthy food and treats. Dogs are part of the family, just like kids,” says Ketna Patel, who owns Woof Gang with her husband, Mehul (along with Chewy, their Maltipoo) and has resided in Bridgewater for over 13 years. “You want to be sure they’re eating healthy so they can live a healthy life.”
Patel notes that just like with people, not eating well can mean health issues later on in life. “It’s important to provide good choices for your dog from the very start so they don’t have medical issues later on,” she says. “Like humans, they can develop digestion issues and allergies from improper diet.”
Patel advises pet owners to read ingredient labels to be sure the first ingredients are actual proteins rather than a protein meal or filler, which aren’t as nutritious. “We offer raw, freeze-dried and high-quality, five-star rated dry and wet food,” she says.
The Patels go above and beyond to source food, treats and products that fit the bill, such as toys made from recyclable materials, products from U.S. companies and fresh bakery items made from all natural, human-grade ingredients. They also offer all natural, hypoallergenic and medicated shampoos in their grooming services.
Dogs are welcome to stroll the aisles with their owners to sniff out their favorites. In the bakery, popular choices include their pumpkin soft treats and cupcakes with sugar-free peanut butter icing. Owners also can pick up baked treats, birthday cupcakes, cookies and cakes to celebrate their pet’s big day.
“Bridgewater has a wonderful dog scene,” Patel says. “We’re seeing a lot of new dog owners and many we’ve known since they were puppies. It’s both a dog and family-friendly town and we’re so happy to support that community.”

Woof Gang Bakery Peanut Butter Dog Treat
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups water
2 ½ cups natural peanut butter
2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
1 ½ tbsp canola oil
8 cups whole wheat flour
Instructions:
Combine water, peanut butter, molasses and canola oil in a mixing bowl.
Slowly add flour and mix on low speed until all ingredients are combined and dough forms.
In small batches, turn the dough out onto a kitchen surface.
Roll dough batch out to 3/8” thickness.
Cut out treats with a cookie cutter—whatever fun shapes your dog likes best!
Place treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
To help reduce air bubbles, poke some tiny holes in the treats and cover with an empty baking sheet.
Bake at 325° F convection for 20 to 25 minutes. After the first 15 minutes, flip treats over and bake uncovered for another 5 to 10 minutes, until thoroughly baked.
For more crispy results, place treats in a warm oven for up to an hour to allow moisture to evaporate.
Remove cooled treats from the oven and let your pup enjoy!
