Healthy, Happy Smiles Yield Confidence

Centre For Diagnostic & Cosmetic Dentistry Provides State-Of-The-Art Care, Compassion

Compassion, care and trust: As a comprehensive, patient-oriented practice, Centre for Diagnostic & Cosmetic Dentistry has been serving the Frisco area community since 1992. Regina Powe, D.D.S., leads the experienced team for this generational practice located at 8501 Wade Blvd, Ste. 1140.

"The world of dentistry is an interesting science that's changing so much. Available technology improves our accuracy, and actually makes it fun to provide even more beneficial solutions. We do our absolute best to ensure our patients' mouths are as healthy as possible, and we even do smile makeovers for cosmetic concerns," states Dr. Powe.

The Centre's specialists cover the variety of specific and age-appropriate services needed, such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, geriatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and dental implants.

General dental services there include cleanings, exams, night guards, occlusal adjustment, retainers, sleep apnea treatment, sports mouth guards and TMJ treatment.

"We also handle popular dental treatments, such as Invisalign, teeth whitening, same-day crowns and veneers," adds Dr. Powe.

She says same-day dental crowns are made using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing dental technology. Same-day dentistry eliminates the need for temporary crowns and guarantees instant smile transformation, she adds.

"Some of our biggest compliments from patients come from people who said they never smiled before working with us. Making that kind of positive impact on someone's life makes it so worthwhile," she says.

Furthermore, she says she values the people her team gets to meet. "While seeing each other every six months, we get to interact, share in each other's lives and catch up. We get to be part of various families' stories. Children that I saw decades ago are now in college or are having their own children and bringing them into the practice."

Regarding maintaining an understanding of new dental treatment options, Dr. Powe, who while in college originally considered becoming a geneticist, says she considers it a privilege to participate in continuing education. "In fact, our office always enjoys more than the required number of continuing education requirements."

To that end, she says they remain in the top percent of dentists in the United States and Canada. "Only 5% of general dentistry practices have scanners, while we have three of them. Technology devices are expensive, but I've been blessed with a wonderful husband who understands it's a quality of patient care issue at our practice and he's always supported that investment. Our equipment adds such an important and vital layer to what we can do for patients."

She predicts a dental breakthrough to monitor during 2024 is the connection between photography and CT scans. She explains that pictures of faces can be taken to see what's truly happening in the underlying bone structure. Whereas in the past, this process was a bit of guesswork, this new interface provides exact documentations.

Dr. Powe is a member of the American and Texas Dental Associations, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Implantology with completing qualifications as Fellow in 2022. She serves on the board of directors of the Dallas Chapter of the American Academy of General Dentistry. She also belongs to the local North Texas Dental Society, and is in the Junior League of Collin County. Additionally, she holds membership in the Collin County Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

"My greatest joy has been watching dentistry expand clinically and change practically. Our practice has enjoyed being on the front lines of that change. We've equipped our office with state-of-the-art digital equipment so our patients lack nothing that dentistry has to offer," states the dentist with nearly 30 years in practice.

Dr. Powe says her team takes care of 2-year-olds as well as all their grandparents.

Her attention to details is known as being very beneficial. She explains, "We have the capacity to see inside the recesses of your TMJ joints and straighten that one misaligned tooth."

The Centre's staff offers $130 specials for new patients regarding dental cleanings, exams and X-rays and fluoride treatments.

"Dentistry is fascinating, practical and advancing at rocket speed. I love the patients, the science and the opportunities to serve," Dr. Powe concludes. "We've been blessed to grow up with each other's families to the point that we're all like extended family members brought together by a hometown-style dental practice."

"I hope our patients feel like their dental needs are being taken care of by neighbors who also have the first-rate technology to assist with their best health," she adds.
