Oftentimes we forget about our local businesses as we leave town to explore new areas. I wanted to highlight what a day looks like shopping at places in Southwick that I consider "Hidden Gems" in our community.
My first stop of the day is Blossoming Acres. Here we find a charming old-fashioned country store filled with tons of goodies such as: farm fresh produce, special bakery items, over 17 different kinds of homemade soups, as well as locally made honey, candies, lotions, soaps and much more! I left with a few pastries, some soap and an iced tea. I can't wait to try their soup!
Next on the list is the Country Colonial Shop. I felt so embraced after reading a sign on the building saying, “Welcome to all; enter as strangers, leave as friends.” I had never been in this store before, however, after leaving I know I will find myself back there more often. This shop has it all: handbags, jewelry, wooden signs, Polish Pottery, furniture, candles, and decor. You name it, they have it. Country Colonial Shop is a perfect place to purchase gifts for friends or yourself! I loved their wreaths and bunny signs - perfect for the Easter Season!
Finishing off my day, I stopped in The Bar Shoppe for some cocktails and a light snack with my mother. I was in a sweet mood so I decided on getting a S’mores Martini for myself and a Funky Monkey for my mom. We ordered a meat and cheese board and we were greeted with this beautiful platter! I loved combining the crackers with brie cheese and prosciutto. This was the perfect ending to a great day, supporting local Southwick businesses!
