Air up those tires, adjust that helmet, and set your sights on the Greenway, because Springdale is waiting, and it’s ready to ride.
Over the past year, Springdale, Arkansas has invested deeply in curating outdoor spaces and experiences for its surrounding community. One shining example is the grand reopening of Luther George Park last October, following a much-anticipated two-year renovation. With its transformation complete, the park now stands as a true gateway to the Razorback Regional Greenway and a symbol of the city’s growing curation of outdoor community spaces.
Springdale is home to some of the most enjoyable stretches of the Greenway, and whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or someone just dusting off an old cruiser, it offers the perfect place to hit the ground rolling.
You can start your ride at Luther George Park, a family-friendly space complete with shade trees, a vibrant selection of play equipment, beautiful picnic tables, and a breath taking art installation there to welcome you in. It’s the perfect spot to stretch, snack, and prep for your adventure. From there, the Greenway unfurls like a winding ribbon through Springdale, smoothly paved, well-maintained, and full of quiet charm.
One of the city’s most cherished programs is the Springdale Bike Club, a welcoming and ever-growing community of riders of all backgrounds and experience levels. The club meets every Tuesday night at seven in the evening for a twelve mile ride along the Greenway. In rain or shine, you’ll always find someone ready to ride. The only thing that stops this group of avid cyclists is a flash of lightning.
What makes this group special isn’t just the trail, it’s the community that has been slowly built upon the passion to ride and enjoy the outdoors. Riders say it’s the camaraderie, encouragement, and connection that keeps them coming back week after week. On warm evenings, you might see up to thirty riders gliding down the path together, but in colder months, a smaller crew of dedicated riders help keep the tradition alive.
And if you don’t catch them on the trail, you might find this hard working crew unwinding at Mr. Taco Loco. Where you can spot them out on the patio seats, swapping stories of the ride over well earned baskets of tacos and ice cold drinks.
Springdale may not be the first place that comes to mind for a cycling adventure, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. It’s a place where the riding is serene, the people are passionate, and hidden gems are waiting to be discovered around every bend.
