Since October of last year, D1 Training in Boerne has offered nontraditional athletic training to anyone trying to step up their game. Whether that means becoming a better athlete, losing weight, or just staying in shape, D1 Training is one of the best local opportunities available. With over 50 nationwide locations, D1 has built a reputation for excellence in physical training over its 20-year history, having received praise from "Men’s Health" magazine as well as recognition by over 100 NFL draft picks.

Jason Marshall, college basketball coach for 24 years, recently joined D1 in Boerne as general manager and offered his thoughts as to why D1’s athletic-based training is such an important choice for anyone wanting to be active. Marshall reiterated the broad focus of D1’s efforts, mentioning that D1 offered a “high-energy environment for youth and adults … our heartbeat is really the scholastic-age kids, our backbone is the adults.” He encouraged young athletes to train with D1, saying, “We’re trying to keep kids at their physical best and keep that mental edge.” One of D1’s strongest assets, according to Marshall, is its nationwide sponsorship by professional athletes. Both the Boerne and San Antonio locations are sponsored by Matt Bonner, former NBA star and championship-winning San Antonio Spurs player.

One of the biggest struggles D1 has faced is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused it to shut its doors completely for two whole months. During that time, D1 put all its programs on the free Train Heroic App, where over 630 athletes in Boerne, San Antonio, and Helotes were able to stay at the top of their game throughout the shutdown. Now that it’s open again, D1 has closely followed social distancing guidelines and has been “ultra aggressive” in cleaning efforts, as well as training athletes to be sanitary as well.
