There's no place like home!

Home Instead Senior Care helps maintain your independence

There’s no place like home—and there’s usually no place your senior family members would rather be as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.

Finding a balance between ensuring your loved ones receive quality care while remaining comfortable in their familiar surroundings and maintaining a sense of independence can be a struggle.

Home Instead strives to achieve that perfect balance. Home Instead’s “CAREGivers” provide in-home services to your loved ones with a personalized touch.

Home Instead Senior Care network is made up of over 1,500 independently owned and operated franchise offices around the world, providing services in their own communities under the Home Instead Senior Care brand.

Owner Ken Tabb (along with his silent partner, Brieana Jones) took over an existing franchise in 2019, with the Orange County location in operation since 2014.

Ken wasn’t at the helm of Home Instead for long when COVID-19 struck. Ken is grateful for surviving such unprecedented times thanks to his dedicated team.

“I’m feeling blessed that we not only survived 2020, but we are now looking forward to a business that is growing and able to offer valuable services to our community. I’m thankful that I have a team of essential workers who continue to service our clients. They understand the importance of what we do. I couldn’t ask for a better team!” says Ken.

While Ken is forever thankful for the perseverance and loyalty exhibited by all of his employees, he deeply appreciates the integral role of one team player in particular.

“My General Manager, Doreise Oliver, has been instrumental to the success of our business. She brings over 35 years of experience in the medical field, as well as hands-on experience dealing with dementia. Doreise has a true passion and a heart for caring for our senior community,” says Ken.

A wide range of services are available from Home Instead and are tailored to your family’s needs.

Personal care services include assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing to promote independence and encourage vital daily routines for seniors.

Nurse-directed care ensures proper management of medications and glucose checks. In-home care for chronic illnesses or conditions, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, stroke support, cancer, and more are also available.

Meal prep and “Home Helpers” assist with nutrition and housekeeping responsibilities.

Hospice support, transportation assistance, couples care, and companionship services are also offered to clients—whatever the special senior in your life needs, Home Instead has a solution.

While the pandemic certainly created a myriad of problems, it also provided a boost in business.

“Care for seniors has sparked new interest,” notes Ken. “Enhancing the care of seniors in their homes is our number one priority. We must stay diligent in finding new ways of improving the quality of care and services for our seniors. Home Instead is joining forces with [another provider named] Honor. Together, we are the only company in the world combining high tech with high-touch care on a global scale,’ he says.

In addition to an innovative mentality, Ken recognizes the power of communication with clients’ family members.

“We’re available to families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They know they can count on us,” he says.

Ken’s commitment to communication also extends to community outreach. His team can be found delivering Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas gifts to those in need during the holiday season.

Home Instead is also involved with a number of charitable organizations, including Acts of Kindness, Become a Pen Pal, Be a Santa to a Senior, Champions of Aging, GIVE65, Hilarity for Charity, Home Instead Charities, and Walk to End Alzheimer's

While there’s never a dull moment in the daily operations, Ken and his Home Instead family wouldn’t have it any other way. “What we do is more than a job, it’s a calling,” he says. “You must have a ‘servant’s heart’ and enjoy serving others. We love what we do because it has a purpose.” https://www.homeinstead.com/location/280/
