Creating Spaces and Memories

A Family's Passion for Home and Life

As the sun set over the majestic Rocky Mountains, the Hendrick family found themselves pausing to absorb the breathtaking view. This moment of serenity led to a profound epiphany. "That moment was life-changing," Nicole Hendrick recalls. "In search of whatever we were looking for, we had lost focus on our faith and family."

With Nicole's master’s degree in accounting and Taylor’s banking experience in New York, the couple had impressive credentials but lacked fulfillment. They sought peace of mind and a better fit for their family. Fast forward a year, with a newfound focus on what truly mattered, they opened Render Flooring.

Taylor and Nicole Hendrick, along with their three children—Cohen, 4; Callum, 2; and newborn Crew—embody family values. Their beloved dog Charlie, a sweet wedding present for Nicole, completes their family unit.

With Springfield located in the middle of the country, a road trip to the mountains or beach is not too far for the Hendrick family. Colorado, Florida and Hawaii are a few of the places this family has recently traveled. They also love a quick day drive. Nicole said, “We try to travel as much as we can. Normally we will make a cup of coffee and get in the car and just go.” The family embraces their passion for travel, even with small children and love giving them the experience.

The Hendrick family thrives on outdoor activities. Whether it’s splashing in a local creek, hiking a trail, or enjoying a park day, their children are at the heart of their adventures. "Our three boys are our world," says Taylor. Nicole adds, "T-ball season is starting. I'm not missing that." You might spot the family at Bass Pro Shops. In the winter, their oldest son says, “It’s a cold day, it is a Bass Pro Day.”

Both Nicole and Taylor come from entrepreneurial backgrounds and never felt truly fulfilled working for others. "It just felt like the right time. Can't explain it," Nicole shares. They remodeled homes together, blending their skills to create beautiful spaces. This experience inspired their new venture, Render Flooring. The couple values their creative freedom and the ability to provide unique, quality tile and flooring options for any budget, from small projects to large.

The Hendrick duo are making a generational move, prioritizing their family and enjoying the Rocky Mountains. "They grow up so fast," reflects Nicole.

"We want to live a good life surrounded by good people," Taylor explains. They appreciate Springfield’s evolving culture and entrepreneurial spirit. "It's always changing. It has a small town feel, driven by entrepreneurship," Taylor notes.

Their business allows them to connect with clients on a personal level. For Nicole, it’s an “artistic release” to select tile options and guide clients through renovations. They cherish the relationships they build through their work.

Render Flooring’s name reflects their dual mission: to render service to their customers and create unique, homey spaces. They guide clients from initial inspiration to final result, offering a seamless and personal experience.

The Hendrick duo envision their store as a multi-use space, hosting events and training sessions for architects and designers. They want to be a hub where creativity flourishes and clients feel inspired. A boutique-style experience is something the owners strive for with a minimalist approach, translating to a breath of fresh air without the sense of overwhelm.

The business complements their lifestyle allowing them balance in their lives. Taylor mentions, "Work and life are just merged in a way for us. We find time to put into the kids, but we know the business also has to come in an equal front."

As a Springfield native, Taylor describes the town as, "a melting pot within Missouri. The culture is right here, and I think the emphasis of young people being entrepreneurs really fits into our mindset. We want to build something for our kids."

They cherish the local culture, enjoy kid-friendly activities and frequent local coffee shops like Dancing Mule Coffee Company and El Cafecito. Nicole says, "Springfield feels like home."
