Rooted in Old Town Greenwood, Bayberry Spa LLC's story is one of local love.
Inside a restored historic home, Bayberry Spa owner Jennifer Hagner strives to create a calm, welcoming spa where care feels personal, unhurried and customized to each client. "From the moment a client walks in, I want them to feel like they can exhale," Jen explains.
No doubt the notable spa location and charm of downtown Greenwood create a setting that sets client experiences apart, fostering an atmosphere for relaxation and rejuvenation.
"Customer service is in the smallest details, and we want to give our clients all the love before, during and after their treatments," she says.
"My mission is for every client to rediscover themselves in our spa. Luxury is taking care of yourself with wellness treatments. Recharging lets you show up for yourself, your family and your community," Jen adds.
At Bayberry Spa, personalized care is part of every massage, facial and wellness treatment. Warm, toasty pillows, infused hot towels, heated massage tables, essential oils and Farmhouse Fresh skin care elevate the spa experience. Bayberry clients don't pay more for customized treatments. Jen says she's a firm believer that small details significantly impact clients' rest and recovery during and after treatments. Scents, sounds and the decor all play a role in putting guests' relaxation at the forefront.
Spa clients can select from treatments focused on relaxation and unwinding, pain and recovery and glowing beauty. With massages tailored to de-stress, anxiety, grief, sports and couples, there is a treatment targeted specifically to help clients begin healing and reconnect with themselves.
Targeted to address pain, Bayberry Spa offers sports massages, assisted stretching, manual cupping and Kinesio taping. This comprehensive menu combines deep tissue, stretching and circulation work to help improve flexibility and range of motion and reduce pain.
If clients want to feel better in their own skin, Jen says personalized facials, dermaplaning, peels or specialized, targeted skin treatments will improve skin health while also boosting their confidence.
Jen believes the biggest compliment the spa can receive is positive client feedback: "We love hearing when a client tells us that they feel better and taken care of."
Giving clients a renewed sense of purpose fulfills Jen. She confirms that she values helping locals show up better in their own lives, something she does intentionally as well. "My favorite thing about being a local business owner in Greenwood is the relationships with clients and other small business owners. Some of those connections happened as a result of the business."
Actively involved in giving back her time and professional services to the community, Jen states she believes in showing up for her neighbors. Partnering with organizations, such as Aspire Economic Development and Chamber Alliance and Discover Old Town Greenwood, she helps other small business owners to drive economic development in Johnson County. She says she's developed a strong network of local, small business owners who collaborate to cross-promote one another, supporting neighborhood businesses and keeping Greenwood thriving.
Jenn also donates her time, along with spa and wellness services, by collaborating with The Boaz Project, Inc., a Greenwood-based global ministry that helps orphans.
As her spa business grows, Jen says she enjoys building her team with professionals who are passionate about wellness and the Greenwood community. "I pour into my team so that they can pour into the community," she adds.
