Homeworks Construction

How Jason Lentz Built a Company Rooted in Relationships & Transparency

From 2008-2009, Jason Lentz noticed a rise in the Chattanooga housing market as his small home remodeling projects slowly started to grow into larger renovations. Nearly 15 years later, Homeworks Construction has completed countless residential remodeling and commercial projects.

After talking with Jason, it is abundantly clear that what sets Homeworks Construction apart is his ability to work hands-on with his clients and form lasting relationships in the process. Building a home encompasses much more than just the design and construction process. Jason goes above and beyond to listen to his clients, advise them, and counsel them throughout the entire process.

In recent years, North Chattanooga has been the most sought-after part of town, but the current target area is now shifting to more historical neighborhoods like the Southside of downtown and St. Elmo. The historic homes of Chattanooga hold a very special place in the city’s architectural landscape, so Justin and his team work hard to ensure that all exterior facades remain intact while the interiors get a modern-day upgrade.

Along with St. Elmo, Lookout Mountain is home to many breathtaking Homeworks’ renovations and designs. Jason recently gutted a Sears Kit Home and had to get creative by using soffits to make the vaulted ceiling work for an unexpected, unique architectural detail. While servicing a large portion of homeowners on Lookout, Jason had the opportunity to renovate a commercial project for one of his clients, Caralisa Montgomery.

Caralisa started as a residential client and after working with Jason, decided to hire him to renovate her business, Canopy, a local coffee and wine bar. Within 6 months, Jason had transformed one building into two separate spaces while channeling the interior creative designs with the owner and sketching the details as he went along.

As Chattanooga continues to see a boom in housing expansion, Jason is excited to dabble in the trend of mastering smaller, more efficient, everyday living quarters. A well-thought-out, substantial living space that doesn’t include a hefty cost or take up a large geographical footprint is the next phase of housing! If smaller homes are on the rise, this means that a larger outdoor space is necessary. Covered porches, and living areas, plus functional outdoor kitchens are a great way to enhance the exterior square footage and embrace the fresh Chattanooga scenery.
