The 84th Iroquois Steeplechase Gallops Toward Hope, Celebrating Champions On and Off the Track

For more than eight decades, the Iroquois Steeplechase has been a cherished Nashville tradition, blending world-class horse racing, Southern hospitality, and philanthropy. On May 10, 2025, thousands will gather at Percy Warner Park for the 84th running of this iconic event, which serves as a major fundraiser for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and other local charities.

Since 1981, the Volunteer State Horsemen’s Foundation (VSHF) has contributed more than $11 million to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, one of the nation’s leading pediatric facilities. The hospital provides life-saving care for children facing critical illnesses, operating the only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Middle Tennessee, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, and Centers of Excellence for treating congenital heart disorders and diabetes. Beyond healthcare, the Steeplechase also benefits Friends of Warner Parks, which preserves and enhances the equestrian trails and facilities at Percy Warner Park, as well as The Foundation for the Horse and the Steeplechase Fund, which support equine health, research, and safety.

Race day offers six thrilling races, including the prestigious Calvin Houghland Iroquois Stakes, along with fan-favorite events such as the Style Contest, Tailgating Contest, Stick Pony Races, and the Parade of Hounds. Enhanced luxury experiences include an expanded Hunt Club patio with additional TV screens, while the Royal 615 Lounge will offer light bites and an exclusive after-party with DJs until 7:00 PM.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, complimentary Designated Driver tickets are available for each tailgating spot. Expanded vendor areas, gourmet food trucks, and official Steeplechase merchandise round out the experience. Combining tradition, excitement, and community impact, the Iroquois Steeplechase remains one of Nashville’s most anticipated annual events.
