Toasty Drinks for the Chilly Days Ahead

There is nothing like a hot drink to warm the body and soul. Finally, after what has been an ultra-extended period of heat advisories, it is finally cool enough outside to properly enjoy them! Here are some local favorites.

Passionfruit Caramel Latte

WHAT: Although it only opened a few years ago, Provision has quickly made a name for itself as a premier local coffee roaster in the region. Among its most impressive hot offerings is its Passionfruit Caramel Latte, which starts with freshly brewed espresso. That is paired with scratch-made caramel syrup infused with both passionfruit and bourbon, and then finished with steamed milk and an orange twist. $8

LON's Irish Coffee

WHERE: 5532 N. Palo Cristi Road, Paradise Valley

WHAT: Every fall, LON’s welcomes back at least one hot cocktail. This year, their classic fire-side sipper—LON's Irish Coffee—makes its return. It features Limavady Irish Whiskey, made with 100% malted Irish barley, coffee, and a generous topping of whiskey- and vanilla-infused whipped cream. $16

Café en Fuego

WHERE: 7575 E. Princess Drive, Scottsdale

WHAT: La Hacienda’s Café en Fuego is made tableside and set on fire before serving. First, choose your brand of tequila. Next, choose mixers, with choices including Bailey’s Irish Cream, Frangelico, and/or 1921 Tequila Blanco (a cream liqueur with notes of cinnamon and vanilla). The drink is finished with coffee, cinnamon, sugar, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings. $16 and up

Birthday Cake Latte

WHERE: 901 S. 7th St., Phoenix

WHAT: Housed inside of a former 1960s storefront in Downtown Phoenix, this newly opened coffee crafter boasts a selection of hot sippers from Johnny Rios, who is certified by the International Barista & Coffee Academy. Do not miss the Birthday Cake Latte with white chocolate, vanilla, espresso, and steamed milk or the Chocolate Pistachio with chocolate sauce, pistachio syrup, espresso, and steamed milk. $6-$7
