A new year equals a great time 'to get hot' with other, like-minded healthy people. When stepping into Studio LIT in Newtown, therapeutic heat from the infrared heating system is immediately noticeable, says studio owner Jennifer Abraham. "The heat detoxifies, de-stresses, strengthens and rejuvenates bodies and minds. The comfortable warmth will wrap around you as you prepare for yoga or workout sessions," she assures.
“We also use light therapies and aromatherapy in the studio to create full-sensory experiences.”
As a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and a level I Usui Reiki healer, Jennifer says she began practicing Hot Power Yoga years ago to attain her fitness goals and reduce stress. "Over the years, yoga became my passion. I love the way yoga melds mind and body, making me feel strong while simultaneously at peace. My belief is when you combine lifelong yoga practice with weight training, you'll improve your quality of life to degrees that cannot be measured."
Studio Lit offers a variety of classes: Hot Power Flow, Hot 26+2, Warm Slow Flow, Kundalini Yoga, LIT Strong Hot Strength Classes, Hot Power Pilates, Reiki Healing, workshops, retreats and other special events.
Jennifer says the Studio LIT team leads immersive experiences during which participants can halt noise from the outside world and focus on the present moment to reach their health and fitness goals. "The only thing you need to bring to class is water," she adds.
Some of the added health benefits of exercise associated with infrared heat/light that Jennifer spotlights include extended calorie burn; increased flexibility and circulation; glowing skin; increased injury recovery; increased flow of lymph fluid; reduced pain and inflammation; assistance in detoxification and digestion; and increased weight loss.
With Valentine's Day approaching, Jennifer confirms Studio Lit offers gift cards in any denomination.
