Having been raised by her entrepreneurial father who owned many businesses, Alyson was no stranger to running her own company. After the couple met, they ran her father's audiology business. Then, Larry took a job with WalMart and enrolled in management training. He was about to get his own store when they felt the Lord was directing them elsewhere. They decided to start a trucking business and Larry was also called to pastor at a community church. During COVID, the business entities they were in line with started to dissipate, which was all too common during that time. Through relationships that were built in the community, Larry learned the pool business and with much prayer and conversation with others, they decided to go out on their own and Larry the Pool Guy was born. Soon thereafter, Alyson joined her husband, and daughters, Kenzie and Megan, weren't far behind. Because of Larry's previous retail experience, opening a store was the natural next step.
