After 15 years behind the chair, Kallie knew she wanted to build a salon that reflected the relationships and creativity she loved most about the industry. Kallie says, “I’ve always loved that hairstyling is about so much more than hair. It’s one of the few careers where you get to be creative while building genuine relationships with people.”
That philosophy became the foundation for Mint Salon, a three-chair boutique space designed to feel polished yet incredibly approachable. Rather than creating a large, fast-paced environment, Kallie envisioned something intimate, where clients could settle in, relax and receive individualized attention.
According to Kallie, “I wanted Mint to feel like a breath of fresh air. Beautiful without being intimidating, luxurious without feeling stuffy, and warm from the moment you walk in. My goal has always been for people to feel comfortable enough to truly relax, knowing they’re in good hands.”
Even the salon’s name reflects that goal. Inspired by the phrase “leaving you in mint condition,” it captures the feeling Kallie hopes clients take with them: refreshed, confident and cared for.
Kallie explains, “I’m excited to see people embracing healthier hair, softer color, and quality over high-maintenance trends. Hair is becoming more intentional, and I love helping clients achieve beautiful results while always prioritizing the health and integrity of their hair.”
Mint’s intimate size also shapes the experience. With fewer chairs and less noise, appointments feel less hurried and more connected. Kallie shares the salon with Mallory Smith, a stylist with more than 20 years of experience specializing in blonding, extensions and holistic hair care. Together, they continue investing in education, bringing new techniques, products and best practices back to their clients while keeping healthy hair at the center of their work.
For Kallie, Mint is also closely tied to the character of Olde Town Arvada. Surrounded by independent businesses and a strong sense of neighborhood connection, she sees the salon as one small piece of a larger local community.
Kallie says, “Olde Town Arvada has such a unique sense of community, and I feel incredibly grateful to be a small part of it. There’s something special about being surrounded by other locally owned businesses that genuinely support one another.”

Kallie shares, “At the end of the day, my goal has never been to build the biggest salon—it’s been to build one that feels intentional. A place where people can slow down, feel genuinely welcomed, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.”
