THE TRENDS I'M LOVING: Arches and a statement patterned tile
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THEM: We have had a movement towards clean lines and squaring things off the past few years and I think the resurgence of curves and arches coming back is a wonderful juxtaposition to all the hard lines. It really softens a space and is so visually pleasing to the eye. In a kitchen, when you pair the arches with a fun patterned tile, I think it feels fun and timeless all at the same time.
PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS: I love the options of patterned tiles at Bedrosians and Facings of America if you’re looking to source some great options locally. Tabarka Studio also has some wonderful bespoke tiles that would work with any project.

THE TREND I'M LOVING: Woven accents
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: Woven pieces bring a warm, natural texture to the space, adding a touch of organic interest. These pieces, whether in the form of pendant lighting, counter stools or baskets, create a cozy, inviting atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with modern cabinets and countertops. Woven elements also provide a subtle nod to craftsmanship and tradition, giving the kitchen a timeless design.
PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS: All featured items available for purchase through TomKat Design.
WHAT HOMEOWNERS SHOULD KNOW: While woven accents add warmth and character to a kitchen, it's important to avoid overusing various textured elements. Too many different woven pieces in various colors can feel too busy. Focus on one main element, or a few smaller accents with woven texture.

THE TRENDS I'M LOVING: Warm wood finishes, two-toned cabinets, mixed metal tones, slab backsplashes
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THEM: The texture and contrast of all the various materials keeps it warm and interesting.
Warm wood finishes: My personal favorite is adding warm wood and wood-look materials through cabinetry, flooring, accent pieces, and architectural elements. White oak and walnut have been a favorite and at the top of wood trends. In addition, I also love to use clear alder. It has an even, textured wood grain which accepts stains well while allowing the grain to show through. It also works well in many different design styles, from modern to traditional.
Two-tone cabinetry: By mixing wood stain and painted cabinets, it provides character and depth to your kitchen. It also allows the ability to define different zones which can create visual interest.
Mixed metals: When mixing metals, I like to stick to two to three finishes. The key is to select metals with contrast and a mix of warm and a cool finish.
Slab backsplash: By carrying the slab of the countertop up the backsplash it provides a clean and luxe look.
WHAT HOMEOWNERS SHOULD KNOW: My best advice is to follow the trends you love. If you love certain design elements, you still will several years from now. Your home should reflect you, your lifestyle, and the people and things that you love.
