When Linda Lemery lost her mother to cancer, her search for alternative therapy set her on a new path. She explored acupuncture, reiki, essential oils, chiropractic care and functional medicine—experiences that deepened her passion for natural wellness.
“I wanted to build a place that felt warm, friendly and welcoming,” Lemery says. “Somewhere people could come to restore, relax and reconnect with their health.”
That vision became Infrared Light Sauna Studio in Midland Park, where the gentle heat of infrared saunas and the glow of red-light therapy aim to help clients “[mend] from the inside out.”
The science of infrared
Infrared light—the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum—penetrates tissue to stimulate circulation, support detoxification and promote cellular repair, the studio says. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air, infrared saunas warm the body directly, raising core temperature to produce a deep sweat. The studio says this approach may help slow signs of aging, decrease inflammation, support brain performance, aid pain relief and burn up to 400 calories per session.
Red-light therapy targets the mitochondria—the “battery packs” in each cell—to support cellular energy, according to the studio.
At Infrared Light, each sauna session takes place in a private room designed for comfort and calm. Sessions can be enhanced with chromotherapy—colored light intended to help balance the body’s energy—and optional aromatherapy.
“Clients love how relaxed they feel afterward,” Lemery says. “You’re not only supporting physical health, but mental and emotional well-being, too.”
Relax, reset, restore
Infrared Light offers flexible session options and memberships. Sauna sessions range from 30 to 45 minutes, with packages for first-timers and frequent users. Red light can be booked alone or paired with a sauna session.
Memberships—Relax, Reset, Restore—provide monthly access at reduced rates, plus perks such as a free birthday session, discounts on add-ons and complimentary red-light treatments on sauna days. Students receive 20% off packages and memberships.
“Infrared and red-light therapies are great complements to a wellness routine,” Lemery says. “They can help with pain, stress, inflammation, mental health, weight loss and skin health—and the best part is, you just sit back and let your body do the work.”
At Infrared Light, every session is an opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply and find balance in body and mind.
