For Laura Wosiak, breathwork became a life-changing practice, born out of a desire to manage stress and anxiety. Her introduction to this transformative technique came through her husband, Tomasz Wosiak, who had attended Rebirthing Breathwork sessions in Nashville. Inspired by his Winter Expedition with Wim Hof in Poland in 2020, Laura decided to explore breathwork herself. What she found was not just a tool for stress management but a gateway to personal transformation.
“I started using breathwork to cope with anxiety, but it became so much more than that,” Laura explains. “It’s a powerful tool for self-discovery, emotional regulation, and physical wellness.” Through conscious breathing, she experienced improved mental clarity, emotional balance, and a greater sense of resilience.
"Breathwork is the conscious practice of using the breath to promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. By intentionally modulating breath, practice can regulate emotions, reduce stress, and achieve deeper self-awareness, explains Laura, “Slow, deep breathing induces relaxation and inner harmony, while faster, more intense breathing techniques help release suppressed emotions and support personal growth, calming the nervous system."
“Unfortunately, many breathe unconsciously or inefficiently, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and chronic health issues,” she continues, “Through practices like Rebirthing, breathwork can improve mental clarity, boost energy, enhance immune function, and promote emotional healing.”
This passion led Laura to become a certified breathwork facilitator, launching Boundless Breathwork, where she now offers one-on-one Rebirthing Breathwork sessions, group workshops, corporate Lunch & Learns as well as cold plunge and sauna education. She even recently wrote a book in Polish, her native first language, about breathwork and self-discovery. “Writing the book was a way for me to share my knowledge with my Polish roots and help others on their own journeys of growth,” she says. Her goal is to share the benefits of breathwork with others, whether in-person or online.
For those looking to bring breathwork into their daily lives, Laura offers three simple techniques:
-
Conscious Breathing: Start by noticing your breath. Pay attention to moments when you hold your breath or breathe shallowly. Awareness is the first step toward change.
-
Create a Pause: In stressful situations, take 3-5 conscious, connected breaths to pause and regulate your emotions before responding.
-
Square Breathing: In high-stress moments, try 4x4x4x4 square breathing: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, and hold for 4. This simple technique is used by US Marines and first responders to stay calm under pressure.
As Laura says, “Breathing properly is the foundation of good health. It’s the most important thing we do.”
