Inspector Daggett Keeps A Watchful Eye On Homes

Local Business Keeps Realtors And Homeowners In The Know

The home buying process can be complicated, filled with many critical steps that must be accomplished before buyers can take possession of their properties. From choosing the right neighborhood to arranging affordable financing to setting a closing date, each stage must be completed before the dream of home ownership can be realized.

Along with providing a safe and comfortable place to raise a family, purchasing a home is one of the most important financial decisions that many people will make in their lives. For most homeowners, their residence represents a significant percentage of their overall net worth. As a result, it is important that homeowners are fully informed about the condition of their properties before they sign their mortgage papers.

Very few buyers are well-versed about home construction and maintenance processes, particularly when purchasing their first residence. This lack of knowledge can lead to costly mistakes when evaluating potential houses.

Fortunately, there is a solution to this problem for Hendersonville area residents – Inspector Daggett.

Inspector Daggett is a professional home inspection company owned and operated by Hendersonville resident Mike Daggett. Mike has been providing residential inspection services to area realtors and home buyers since 2004, and he is affiliated with two preeminent accrediting agencies – the American Society of Home Inspectors and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

“When I was growing up, I was inspired by my father, who was a custom cabinet maker who built my childhood home,” says Mike. “I apprenticed with him for several years, and he passed on to me a love and appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. Working with him led me to pursue a career in residential inspections in which I can help guarantee the security of purchasing well-built and well-maintained homes.”

Inspector Daggett offers a variety of services for owners, including single family home inspections, multiunit residential inspections, re-inspections (typically performed one year after a purchase) and radon inspections. Although the company does not perform commercial and industrial inspections, it can handle any time of residential dwelling.

Most assessments typically take around four hours, but the actual time can vary depending upon the home size, complexity, scope and the level of homeowner involvement in the inspection process. Once the inspection is complete, Inspector Daggett typically provides realtors and homeowners with detailed same-day reports.

Pricing varies by the size of the residence, ranging from $400 for homes less than 1,000 sq. ft. to $700 for homes up to 4,500 sq. ft. For homes 4,500 sq. ft. and larger, the company provides custom price quotes. Radon testing services range from $150 (when performed with a home inspection) to $250 when performed standalone.

Although based in Hendersonville, Inspector Daggett performs services all over Middle Tennessee.

“While our service area is Greater Nashville, but we’ll work with any realtor or homeowner to provide a personalized service quote if they are located outside of this region,” says Mike. “Honestly, any place located within the great state of Tennessee is always up for consideration, so customers can feel free to bring on their mountain vacation homes.”

When creating the company, Mike and his wife Dianna decided to take a lighthearted approach to choosing a business name.

“Mike has always been a fun-loving guy who has always been known for his ability to provide a solution to just about any problem,” says Dianna. “When we were toying around with business names, we remembered the old 1980s cartoon series ‘Inspector Gadget.’ Given its similarity to our last name Daggett, we both laughed and thought that Inspector Daggett was the way to go. It is a memorable name, and it lets our customers know that they will be working with a company that has a fun outlook on life.”

For homeowners and realtors looking to do their due diligence right, give Inspector Daggett a call.
