Solimar Day Spa’s passion for rejuvenation and dedication to each of their clients started with a dream that continues to unfold in Bergen County today. Located in Park Ridge, Solimar Day Spa was founded in 2013 by Tania Kuiters Hurtado who, after moving to the United States from Ecuador at 21 years old, strived to make her mark on the beauty industry by making a place where people could find a sense of relaxation and personalized self-care.
“Building this business was not easy, but every challenge made me stronger,” Hurtado stated, “I poured my heart into creating a space where clients feel valued, where my team works with passion, and where the power of self-care transforms lives. Solimar Day Spa is more than a business to me—it’s a symbol of perseverance, love, and the belief that with hard work, dreams do come true.”
That dream resulted in a unique business whose many services will leave clients feeling their best. The spa offers several types of massages, traditional and hydrafacials that help brighten and revitalize the skin, various waxing services, and cavitation treatment, a noninvasive body contouring procedure that assists in reducing fat and tightening skin through ultrasound technology.
What adds to the experience, though, is Solimar Day Spa’s dedication to helping their clients feel properly pampered. Through personalized experiences, a welcoming atmosphere, and results-driven services, Solimar Day Spa is able to truly make sure each client walks out of their facilities feeling great.
“Every client is treated like family, with customized treatments tailored to their specific needs,” Hurtado said. “From the moment clients walk in, they feel at home, not just another appointment on a schedule.”
At the heart of this care is Hurtado’s leadership. Being a women business owner, she has learned lessons in resilience, hard work, and belief that helped shape her business into what it is today, her family’s support only aiding in the process.
“From my wonderful staff to my supportive family, I’ve learned that success is never achieved alone,” Hurtado commented. “Running a business is demanding, but making time for myself and my loved ones keeps me grounded and motivated”.
That motivation has allowed her to cultivate a space of healing and rejuvenation, allowing the residents of Bergen County a place to recenter themselves, giving Hurtado a sense of fulfillment and peace much like her clients experience.
“The most rewarding aspect of owning Solimar Day Spa,” Hurtado explained, “is knowing that I’ve created a place where people can truly transform—not just their appearance, but their mindset and overall well-being. Every time a client walks out feeling more confident, relaxed, and rejuvenated, it reinforces why I do what I do. The ability to provide a space where self-care and healing take place is a powerful gift.”
Hurtado’s gift is one that keeps on giving every day, making a space in our community that is both soothing and inspiring.
