Entwined | The Woodlands Arts Council
Step out of the heat and into a love story told in thread and paint. Entwined, TWAC’s first exhibit featuring a married couple, presents the work of Bob Mosier and Karen Fearon, partners of 32 years and former educators at The John Cooper School.
Mosier builds with thread—geometric forms that begin flat, with three-dimensional sculpture the ultimate outcome. Fearon works looser, chasing intuition through drawings and paintings. Both find new life in reclaimed materials. Different processes, one shared creative life.
Entwined runs through Aug. 6. Tuesday–Thursday, 1–4 p.m. TWAC Exhibition Space, 9450 Grogans Mill Rd., Ste. 160, The Woodlands. 832.304.9863. TheWoodlandsArtsCouncil.org
Potteryland Studio
At Potteryland, everyone qualifies as an artist—and a break from the heat comes built in. Family-owned and operating in The Woodlands since 2010, the paint-your-own pottery studio welcomes walk-ins and RSVPs. Choose a piece from hundreds of options, then head to the paint bar stocked with more than 60 colors, stamps, stencils, brushes and other design tools. Friendly staff offers guidance as needed. Once you finish painting, leave your piece behind. Three days later, it returns glazed and kiln-fired. First-timers and seasoned painters alike find a place here.
Open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Sunday 1-6 p.m. 1027 Sawdust Rd., Ste. 1, The Woodlands. 281.419.7965. Potteryland-Studio.com
Crighton Theatre
For a cultural evening out, head north on Interstate 45. The historic Crighton Theatre has anchored downtown Conroe's arts scene since 1934, and its resident company, Stage Right of Texas, keeps the calendar full. The nonprofit community theatre stages everything from comedies to classic musicals, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Stage Right performs Bye Bye Birdie through July 19.
Pre-show dining along Main Street makes the trip a breeze to justify.
