Nonprofit Fundraisers to Support this April

My dad always taught me to divvy up my money by 'saving a little, spending a little and giving a little.' For me, giving back was always exciting to think about –– where would this money go and who would it support? This month, you can try out this philosophy by lending your dollars to our local nonprofits. 

Giving Grace | Par for a Purpose, Apr. 13

Giving Grace is hosting their annual golf tournament: Par for Purpose on Apr. 13 at the Lantana Golf Club, 800 Golf Club Drive in Lantana. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and will be followed by lunch. The shotgun start will begin at 1 p.m. Individual tickets are $250 and Foursome tickets are $800, taxes and fees will apply. All proceeds go to their Bedtime Rescue Program which provides critical support and emergency shelter for children and families experiencing homelessness.

Lantana Ladies League | Amazing Race, Apr. 14

Get to know the women of the Lantana Ladies League and support the nonprofit, Journey to Dream, at their annual Amazing Race event on Apr. 14 at 6 p.m. Compete against other groups with your team to win prizes and make memories at Marty B’s Coffee, 2664 FM 407 in Bartonville. This event is to close out the league’s fiscal year and is open to the public! Register your team today on their website. 

Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. | MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival, Apr. 16–19

Spend your weekend of Apr. 16–19 to enjoy and support the arts at the 39th annual MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival. This festival is championed by the nonprofit, Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. and there is something for everyone. Attendees can listen to over 35 live music sets throughout the weekend, watch dance performances, activities for kids and explore the local art. MAIN ST. is free to attend with no registration required and is located in Downtown Fort Worth. 

Argyle Band Boosters | Band on the Run, Apr. 18

Support the Argyle Band Program by attending their annual Band on the Run 1K, 5K and 10K race on Apr. 18 located at 6601 Canyon Falls in Drive in Roanoke. Registration for the 1K starts at $25 and includes a t-shirt and finishers medal, the longer races increase in price and receive a timed race bib. This event will also have live music, raffle prizes, vendors and an appearance from one of the most decorated female veterans in history, Command Sergeant Major Gretchen Evans!  

Club of Champions Rotary | 7th Annual Clay Shoot, Apr. 24

Club of Champions Rotary of Justin is supporting local nonprofits and the community with their 7th Annual Clay Shoot fundraiser on Apr. 24 at Northlake Shooting Sports, 13055 Cleveland Gibbs Road in Northlake. Whether you’re a seasoned or first-time shooter, this event welcomes everyone! Teams have a chance to win raffle prizes which include wine and alcohol baskets, a complimentary day of golf, a YETI Cooler and more. Breakfast and lunch will also be served during the event along with some beer after the event. Single shooter tickets are $125 and can be purchased on their website. 

Glenn Garcelon Foundation | 15th Annual Golf Classic, Apr. 26

The Glenn Garcelon Foundation was created in honor of Glenn Garcelon, who lost his battle to brain cancer in 2012. The foundation supports and improves the quality of life of brain tumor survivors, caregivers and their families by providing emotional and financial support. You can support this cause by attending their 15th Annual Golf Classic on Apr. 26 located at 8718 Amen Corner in Flower Mound. Attendees can enjoy a day of golf, catered lunch, raffle prizes, wine pull and a banquet. You can purchase tickets or become a sponsor on their website.
