The Boss of the Sauce

Addison Heit, The Master of The Lost Sauce

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world seemed to stand still, Addison Heit refused to let idle hands dictate his path. As we spoke, he reminisced about the journey that led him to establish a thriving sauce company.

It all began in his humble kitchen, crafting small batches of sauces for friends who were captivated by his culinary creations. The word spread, and the demand for his delectable concoctions grew. People began to ask if he'd bottle them, and thus, his sauce venture was born.

Slowly but steadily, Addison's operation expanded.  Launched from his dedication and experience, he brought his vision to life; overcoming the challenges of extending shelf life and sourcing quality dried spices to convert his fresh ingredients into mouthwatering blends. What set his sauces apart was their unique character – flavor-forward with a fiery punch that lingers gracefully on your tongue.

Now, his creations grace the shelves of over 25 stores in Denver and the Front Range, as well as numerous bars, restaurants, distilleries, and breweries. His collaboration with Lumpy Ridge Brewery is a testament to his innovative spirit, resulting in a distinctive beer that bears his signature.

Addison's commitment extends beyond his products; everything he uses is locally sourced, proudly affiliating with Colorado. Pop-up events continue to connect him with the community, and he eagerly embraces each opportunity to contribute to charitable causes alongside his fellow passionate chefs. In the end, Addison's journey from a small kitchen to a thriving sauce empire was driven by his love for flavor, community, and a little inspiration from his BBQ mentor, William Miller, who had learned from none other than Sweet Baby Ray himself.
