Stepping into Janik’s Pierogi Cafe & Juice Bar felt like coming home. Since I have a Polish background, I am familiar with homemade polish food and that’s exactly what this place offers! Once I walked in, I was greeted with bright smiles and cheery hellos. I tried the Sauerkraut & Kielbasa Pierogis and tasted a Tropical Twist Smoothie - it was unreal; so fresh and delicious! Janik's offers personalized pierogi orders by the count - a snack of 6, meal of 9, or if you're really hungry go for 12! Another dish is their Polish Plate piled with fresh-made golabek, keilbasa, kapusta, pierogis, and rye bread. Looking for a mouthful? Try zapienkanka! Janik's serves a large, open-faced sandwich on a baguette topped with white mushrooms (shredded when ordered), mozzarella cheese, spices, and toasted until the cheese melts. Even if you're new to Polish food, the long menu list will be sure to have something you like, and the staff will help explain the ingredients if you need.
In store, you'll also find traditional art, decor, and merchandise from Poland. I loved the traditional Polish pottery, Poland flags, and t-shirts available for purchase. They even had a homemade cookbook you could buy! It is titled "Authentic Homemade Pierogi Recipes, Tips, Secrets: Full Recipes to all of Babcia's Old School Pierogi Classics, and to all The Modern Favorites Made at Janik's Pierogi Cafe" and can also be found on Amazon.
The ambiance was so comforting and the staff made me feel so welcomed. I loved my experience here at Janik's Pierogi Cafe & Smoothie Bar and I cannot wait to go back.
