Artists Honor Outstanding Men of the Woodlands

The John Cooper School students create original works of art to pay tribute to this issues honorees

We had a chance to work with Ms. Deborah Arnold’s Upper School Art Class at John Cooper this Spring.  The team at The Woodlands Lifestyle Magazine loves the arts and we saw a great opportunity for a  creative partnership with her and her class for a front cover project.  The project included creating a work of art from a photograph showcasing our gentlemen leaders of The Woodlands.  We learned that this group of young women from John Cooper had previously worked on The Memory Project, highlighting portraits of Young Women in Afghanistan.   We are especially excited to share the experience of the last art project of their high school careers.  The contest was set up to showcase their talents and our “Legends of The Woodlands”.  We received many great entries and the winner was Nancy Lee.  She received the honor of having her work featured on the Front Cover as well as having her artwork in line to be auctioned off this year to raise funds for ANGEL REACH Foundation, a United Way funded partner agency serving children and their families in Montgomery County.  You can view our artists’ paintings on this Gallery Page.  Our hearts and our sincere “Thanks” go out to all of our talented students and to Ms. Deborah Arnold for sharing her time.   We so enjoyed working with The John Cooper team.  For more information on the auction, please contact us at  tonya.butler@lifestylepubs.com.
