Sean Lyons is one of four partners bringing Karrington Rowe, a new restaurant and dining experience, to Brentwood this winter. With a menu consisting of homestyle dishes with a contemporary flair, Sean and his partners are excited to bring this new establishment south of the city and are looking forward to continuing a legacy of community and culinary excellence. As an owner of two Nashville favorites, Germantown Café, and Park Café, Sean gives us a look into what we can expect from the upcoming eatery.

Sean has always had a passion for the food industry. At only ten years old, he spent his evenings watching the Food Network, fascinated by the chefs and creations. He got his first job at fourteen working for a local Spanish tapas restaurant before starting with a restaurant group in downtown Chicago. After college, he began touring with the famed Hillstone Restaurant Group, visiting different restaurants all around the country. This opportunity ultimately led him to Nashville, where he worked to create the Dream Hotel and solidify its food and beverage offerings before partnering with and reinvigorating the two restaurants of his own. In addition to his restaurant career, Sean also spent a few years traveling the world as a professional ballroom dancer! Sean’s story is just one chapter in the journey of Up Hospitality Partners; each of its founders brings deep roots in Nashville and hospitality, and the team can’t wait for you to learn the rest of their story.

While the menu at Karrington Rowe holds items that feel nostalgic, the team prides themselves on making sure the taste and presentation are top-notch. The thoughtfully curated menu will consist of classic American dishes, in addition to some of Germantown Café and Park Café’s fan favorites, including their famous French onion soup, coconut curry salmon, and ahi tuna, as well as an array of desserts made in-house everyday.

Speaking on why Brentwood was chosen as the new location, Sean shares that many guests at Germantown Café would commute from Brentwood just to dine at the local hotspot.

“I can’t tell you how many times we were asked, ‘When are you coming to Brentwood? We need a local place like this,’” Sean recalls. “When we thought it was time for us to grow, we saw the location and thought, ‘this is it, this is the perfect spot.’”

The support and love from the Nashville community is not something that Sean takes lightly; he shares how extremely grateful he is for the people who have shown overwhelming support and excitement for his new journey with Karrington Rowe.

“It’s everything,” Sean says. “Germantown Café was destroyed by the 2020 tornado, and most restaurants affected by this and COVID-19 had to shutter their doors… but because of the history and support, it allowed us to keep open, retain our team, and build culture. It was the groundwork of us being successful again and keeping the brand alive. There is such strong culture and support in Nashville - our goal is to keep the Nashville legacy alive and allow folks in Brentwood to taste the nostalgia without having to drive thirty minutes downtown.”

Sean and his partners are focused on creating a restaurant that allows an atmosphere that holds a little bit of everything. Open for lunch Monday through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday, and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, Karrington Rowe was built with the goal of being a place people want to go back to.

“We want to build on the legacy of our established brands, what they’ve built in their communities, and create that same dining experience that feels instantly familiar but still fresh,” Sean shares.
