Kirsikka - The Story Behind The Unusual Name

Crafting Unique and Custom Pieces as Original as its Name

"Kirsikka", a small, family-owned jewelry store, has been crafting one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces right here in Gainesville, since 2011.  Kirsikka Jewelry's owner, Alexis Hytonen, was born in the Canary Islands, Spain, and spent the first 15 years of his life on their family sailboat, KIRSIKKA (a Finnish word for Cherry) with his parents and brother, co-owner Alan Hytonen.  They traveled across the Atlantic, the Caribbean islands, and are now rooted in Gainesville.

Kirsikka specializes in custom pieces and repurposing old family heirlooms into something new, stylish and meaningful.  Alexis has had the opportunity to design pieces for both celebrities and anyone who desires beautiful and unique jewelry.  Each piece is carefully designed, gemstones are hand set, and they can even recycle your gold into something one of a kind.

Over the years, Kirsikka has expanded, nearly doubling in size, introducing technologically advanced equipment and techniques.  And, one of their most exciting additions is a state-of-the-art 3-D custom printer and induction casting machine, allowing them to manufacture custom pieces, in-house, more efficiently and more affordably than ever before.

"Jewelry is a very emotional purchase and it's a great privilege to be a part of people's lives through the business, " said Alexis.

Alexis can be reached at Kirsikka Jewelry, 5750 SW 75th Court, Suite 48, Gainesville; 352-353-6968
