The Seders

How the Real Estate Duo Stays On Trend

In The Woodlands, style doesn’t simply refer to how one dresses. It’s a way of living. Few understand that better than Mike and Ally Seder. For nearly four decades, the husband-and-wife duo behind The Mike Seder Group has helped shape not just the region’s real estate landscape but its aesthetic identity, cultivating a community where design, legacy, and lifestyle converge with quiet elegance.

Design and Intuition

From their earliest days, Mike and Ally brought distinct perspectives to the homes they helped their clients envision. Mike, born in Chile and trained in home design, brings a structural intuition to his role—he can walk into a dated space and instantly reimagine it with cleaner lines and timeless materials.

“I often work with sellers on renovations,” he shares. “My background helps me guide them on what updates will not only sell the home, but elevate it.”

Ally brings warmth and style to the experience, connecting with buyers on a deeply personal level.

“It really is a treasure hunt,” she says. “I love that moment when I walk into a home and instantly know—this is the one for a specific client.”

Defining A Market

Together, the Seders have built a team that not only leads the market but also defines it. Their names are synonymous with luxury living in The Woodlands, and now, with their recent expansion into Austin and partnership with eXp Realty, their reach has gone global.

“Our transition to eXp gave us access to cutting-edge tools and international exposure,” Mike explains. “Our listings now appear on platforms like Mansion Global and the Robb Report. It’s about presenting properties with the level of style and sophistication they so richly deserve.”

But for the Seders, success is not a solo journey. Their love story began with Ally trying to set Mike up with a friend (a match that, thankfully, never materialized). That spark grew into a business built on mutual respect and balance. Mike tends to listings and logistics; Ally connects buyers with homes and elevates the marketing voice.

“We work independently but together,” Ally says. “Mike’s the visionary who sees what’s possible in a home’s structure. I’m the one who brings that vision to life in our videos and descriptions.”

Style Through the Years

Their understanding of style—architectural, interior, and personal—has grown over time, just as The Woodlands has. Once a visionary concept in master planning, the area is now a flourishing tapestry of neighborhoods, each with its own charm. The Seders have witnessed every phase of its evolution.

“When we first arrived, it was brilliant but barely built,” Ally recalls. “George Mitchell’s vision of living, working, and playing all in one community—it was ahead of its time.”

With their experience spanning tens of thousands of properties, they’ve seen design trends ebb and flow.

“Right now, we’re seeing a shift toward clean lines, smooth walls, minimal trim, open spaces,” Ally notes. “But traditional homes will always be in style. Ultimately, it depends on what speaks to the client.”

Their own home leans timeless.

“I dress in pieces that flatter and last,” Ally shares. “Our home is the same. We choose one focal point, something beautiful and enduring, and design around it.”

Their eye gravitates toward consistent flooring, beautiful light fixtures, and, naturally, a kitchen worthy of gathering.

Legacy in Motion

Style, for the Seders, extends far beyond visual choices. It’s a philosophy of life. Their community involvement reflects this ethos. From serving on nonprofit boards to hosting signature fundraisers like Open Your Purse for Change—which blends fashion, philanthropy, and purpose—Ally has helped raise awareness and funds for causes close to her heart.

“It began after I saw the room where domestic violence victims could choose donated purses and toiletries. That moment stayed with me,” she says. “Now, people across the community donate designer handbags. The stories we hear from survivors at the event are deeply moving.”

Mike echoes a similar sentiment. “Success is only meaningful when it’s shared. That’s the legacy we want to leave.”

And that legacy is already unfolding. Sons Patrick and Brett have joined the team, along with daughter-in-law Megan.

“It’s a blessing to work with our family,” Ally says. “And we’re especially excited about The Ritz-Carlton Residences coming to The Woodlands. They’ll set a new standard for luxury living here.”

For a couple whose careers began on separate paths—Mike in home construction, Ally in corporate sales—their alignment in real estate seems inevitable in retrospect.

“Ted Bates at RE/MAX invited Mike to join after seeing his sales success,” Ally recalls. “I started by doing his marketing. Then I realized I wanted to be part of it fully.”

The Seder Standard

From early mornings to late-night listing calls, the Seders remain in sync—Mike bringing precision and punctuality, and Ally, heart and flair.

“He’s always early,” she jokes. “And I’m the one who’ll call a client mid-video shoot to say, ‘This is the house you’ve been waiting for!’”

They’re quick to credit The Woodlands as their muse.

“There’s just something about coming home here,” Mike says. “We’ve traveled the world, but this place? It still gives us that feeling.”

Perhaps that’s the clearest expression of the Seder style: understated excellence, rooted in family and driven by purpose.

Whether they’re staging a showpiece home or organizing a charity gala, Mike and Ally do more than sell homes. They help define the way we Woodlands residents live—and live beautifully.
