Life Uplifted at Travanse Senior Living

Barbara, William, Roxane and Lula have something in common. They’re all thrilled with Travanse Senior Living in Olathe.

“If you’re like me, before purchasing anything, I read what others say about the product,” says Executive Director Tom Inderhees. “I encourage anyone considering Travanse to search us online and read our reviews. They’ll find a great many positive responses.”

With 21 years in the industry, Inderhees believes that Travanse has carved a unique niche in the senior living market, in part because of its clever conversion of the former Holiday Inn Express off I-35 and 151st into a new 135-room senior living facility with a $22 million renovation. More importantly, Travanse has invested in the right staff to deliver compassionate and quality care to its senior residents.

“We’re truly different because of our staff,” Inderhees says. “I often say that it’s not fancy chandeliers that are caring for your loved one, it’s people. Our people care for your loved ones with genuine, authentic love. It’s an ideal balance of care and hospitality.”

The warmth and subtle luxury is evident upon entry into the complex. Managed by Integral Senior Living, Travanse is conveniently located within walking distance of Olathe Medical Center. It features an abundance of amenities, along with beautiful apartment homes for ages 55+. Options include assisted living, memory care and independent living (with 60 new units coming soon.)

“You’d never know by walking into this beautiful place that it was once a hotel,” Inderhees adds. “Further renovations were made just this year to transform our one-bedroom apartments into beautifully appointed and spacious apartments. We encourage people to stop by and see the remarkable changes.”

Inderhees stresses the importance of ensuring quality resident care while maintaining a safe environment.

“We have a culture of community from leaders to staff to the residents themselves. We ensure our associates are respected and treated well, and they in turn treat our residents that way.”

A noteworthy program at Travanse is called “Vibrant Life,” allowing residents to create their own schedules to connect with family, friends and the community.

“This program truly inspires, challenges – even dares – residents to be adventurous through wide-ranging optional outings tailored to their interests, preferences, routines and abilities,” Inderhees says.

For residents requiring memory care, Travanse offers “Generations Memory Care,” a program embracing a person-centric culture that emphasizes the whole person – who they were and still are – and not identified by disease or behavior.

“We offer unparalleled care to celebrate the abilities of those we serve. Our care partners complete extensive certified training to better support residents living with memory loss. We emphasize techniques, teachable moments and meaningful engagement to make connections with each individual.”

Travanse is partnering with Legacy Healthcare and plans to be fully operational by year’s end.

“Legacy Healthcare is one of the nation’s largest therapist-owned and operated contract rehabilitation companies. It provides clinical programs for residents, including memory care, pain management, falls prevention and dysphagia management services. We’ll work closely with them to provide optimum clinical wellness at our community.”

“I visited Travanse Living at Olathe and was immediately impressed by the wide open layout of the facility. It was clean, bright, colorful and expansive. Residents seemed to be genuinely happy in this environment, and the staff was most attentive.” —Sylvia B.
