Nancy Holloway of Alpharetta was the lucky winner in Lifestyle Publications’ beach holiday giveaway. She and her sister escaped to the lovely Henderson Park Inn in Destin for four nights of relaxation and pampering. The Henderson is an adult-only beachfront bed and breakfast with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico, and an easy morning’s drive from Alpharetta.
“I found out about the contest from the ad in Alpharetta Lifestyle magazine. My sister went with me on the trip, it was an incredible property, very unique, especially in Destin where you typically see high rise condos or beautiful homes on the beach,” says Nancy, who is a real estate advisor with Engel & Volkers at Avalon. “The property looked like a bed and breakfast that you would see on the New England coast.”
Nancy enjoyed a beach-view room, breakfast and lunch, happy hour cocktails, beach set up, bikes, dinner at the Beach Walk Cafe and massages at the Salamander Spa.
The Beach Walk Cafe is Destin’s only fine dining located directly on the emerald waters of the Gulf Coast and for special occasions, guests can arrange to dine privately ON the beach with a “Toes in the Sand” experience.
With just 37 luxury rooms and suites, the boutique property is quiet and attracts newlyweds, couples and friends looking for an all-inclusive (except dinner) experience at the beach.
“The rooms were more traditional in decor and the restaurant was incredible - very intimate yet charming,” said Nancy. “A complete breakfast buffet was served every morning with a chef to prepare fresh eggs cooked any style.” Boxed lunches to take on a hike through Henderson Beach State Park that directly neighbors the Inn or to the beach are prepared daily for guests and happy hour and snacks are at the ready after a day out and about.
“The entire staff was extremely professional and informative,” says Nancy. “If you are looking for a place to relax and be away from the crowds , unwind...this place is for you!”
