What inspired you to pursue your career?
From the moment I first held a microphone as a child, I was hooked on performing. While I couldn't sing or dance, I could talk! Growing up without siblings, my imagination became my best companion, and my stuffed animals were my audience. I've always been, and will always be, a storyteller. Though I loved being in the spotlight, I also spent hours alone in my bedroom reading, writing books, plays, radio shows, and even creating my own magazine.
What has been your biggest challenge, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was losing my son at 21 weeks into my pregnancy, with my other son only three years old. What followed was a torturous four-year journey of unexplained infertility, failed IVF, and even more traumatic pregnancy losses. The emotional pile-on left me deeply depressed, eventually leading to a PTSD diagnosis. This dark period pushed me into a journey of healing and soul-searching—breaking cycles of generational trauma and shedding parts of myself and relationships that no longer served me. Ultimately, I got pregnant with my daughter. Before I could birth her, I had to "birth" a new version of myself. That transformation was always the first step on my path, even if I didn't realize it at the time.
How do you balance personal/professional life?
My work and home life are rarely in perfect balance, and accepting that has been life-changing. Some weeks are busier than others, and understanding that it’s only temporary helps me ride the wave. My kids always come first, and one thing I've become really good at is saying "no" in my career. Knowing my worth and remembering that every “yes” means more time away from my kids helps me limit what I take on. It also weeds out opportunities that don’t align with my brand, my goals, or who I truly am.
I’ve been fortunate to have so many women positively influence my life, lifting me up both personally and professionally.
