Elegance with an individual edge is what clients receive at The Evelyn Kershaw Salon, promises owner Evelyn Kershaw.
"Our salon is all about clients' great experiences and the best customer service possible. We help people achieve distinctively polished looks with small modifications that uniquely flatter their features," she explains.
Evelyn is a master stylist with a passion for helping people be their very best. In addition to actual hair and makeup solutions, she and her team of six professionals focus on how clients will feel after appointments. The salon reflects Evelyn’s spirit of excellence, with each stylist receiving training that adds to their expertise and to clients' results.
"Consistency is huge," Evelyn assures. "It's about meeting clients' needs and what matches their lifestyles while staying on-trend."
The Evelyn Kershaw Salon is comprised of highly skilled, professionally trained and experienced salon stylists located in Plano. They handle men and women’s haircuts, styling, color, highlights, trims, makeup, extensions, blowouts, and styling for events, such as weddings. As for post-pandemic public safety questions, Evelyn says she's glad they were practicing robust sanitizing long before COVID-19 was known. They, do however, now limit the number of appointments present at any given time.
One newer trend Evelyn and her stylists are noticing is that men definitely are interested in more grooming techniques and facial or hair products. "They're interested in instructional experiences at the salon, and it's about more than just shampoos and conditioners. They're eager to learn how to better take care of themselves during daily routines," she says.
"Men have discovered the secret of why women like to go to salons. They now realized there really was a beneficial method to the madness," she adds.
Evelyn has been transforming the world of hair for more than 30 years. She says she's committed to offering the best and newest technology, products and tools to achieve great hair and makeup results.
As a third generation stylist and entrepreneur, Evelyn’s daughter, Lauren, manages the salon, and is continuing the legacy her mother and grandmother established. She is a master stylist who also enjoys the challenges of enhancing each client’s experience.
"You need a stylist in a salon that understands both the art and the science of hair and life. You need the support of a team approach that can be there whenever you need it. That's us," says Lauren.
Regarding understanding life, Evelyn also was one of 13 contributors to a 2019 book entitled "#nofilterneeded: Shortcuts To Becoming An Influencer," whose author Robin Moore said she assembled because she believes "God-honoring women should influence and transform the world.” Robin says she discovered that finding #nofilterneeded true selves involve stripping away what the world encourages humans to add.
"If we are called to influence the lives of others, to truly impact them, then we must consider what needs to be changed in our culture. And we must start with ourselves," explains Robin.
Inside this book, Evelyn tells her story about removing distracting filters that were undermining her life of influence. She shared her journey about successfully navigating cultural changes while not pretending to be perfect. She comes from a place of warrior strength after raising four children as a single mother.
When Evelyn is not at the salon, or with her new grandson, Declan, she can be found driving to the country with her Bordie Collies, Bandit and Champ, or cuddling with her two cats, Bella Blue and Albus Brian.
