It all started in the third grade. Sloane Rainey loved wearing the colorful earrings she made by hand to school, and one day, her counselor took notice. When Sloane shared that she had designed them herself, she was asked to create a pair and happily accepted the challenge.
That first request sparked an idea that her hobby could become something much bigger.
“I expanded to make earrings in my school’s colors, and they were very popular,” says Sloane. “I thought that I could use my earring profits to give back to the organizations and people that have given to me and help them give to other kids.”
This blossomed into Dangles and Studs, a small business that helps bring a sparkle to your day. As the lead designer, Sloane handcrafts each pair of earrings with the hope that they will tell a story of creativity and compassion.
Living with cerebral palsy, Sloane knows firsthand the difference that supportive organizations can have on a child’s confidence, opportunities, and outlook. That’s why profits from Dangles and Studs are donated to causes that have played an important role in her own journey, including CPATH (Cerebral Palsy Awareness Transition Hope), Dream On 3, and REIZ Adaptive Fitness.
“Each has made an impact on my life and allowed me to do things I didn’t know I could,” says Sloane.

Among Sloane’s many collections, Inked Impressions holds a special place in her heart. While two pairs may share the same colors, no two designs are identical. Using a special ink and a straw to spread the vibrant colors, she watches every pattern develop in its own unique way. It’s a celebration of the beauty of making your mark.
