All-N-1 Auto Detail And Reconditioning in Greenwood, owned by Robin Barkdull, recently underwent remodeling to install new flooring with a moisture vapor barrier base coat, followed by a full broadcast system, a double polyaspartic topcoat and finished with BallistiX Squire silicon-ceramic treatment for enhanced chemical and additional slip resistance.
Robin says, “We’re extremely pleased with the outcome. It’s brought a new level of pride to our shop. When customers walk in, there’s an immediate ‘wow,' the same reaction we strive for when they see their vehicle after it’s been meticulously finished.”
The new project was handled by the three owners of TAK Floor Coverings: Tyler Mauder, Aaron Kyle and Kyle O'Farrell.
Slip resistance is always a key consideration, Tyler affirms. "We incorporated a quartz broadcast into the topcoat, along with chemical slip-resistant additives, allowing us to strike the right balance between safety and cleanability."
One of the project's most unique aspects was the custom flake blend they designed, he adds. It was based on their Domino color, enhanced with additional white for increased light reflection, along with a holographic flake that creates a dynamic, high-end finish.
Challenges of this installation were twofold. This team confirms that achieving a consistent, monolithic topcoat requires a high level of precision. Aaron says this is the “money coat,” and any inconsistency can impact the final result. Second, balancing maximum traction with ease of maintenance is always a challenge. "There’s a fine line between providing a safe, walkable surface in wet conditions and maintaining a floor that’s easy to clean."
The full execution took approximately seven days, spread across two weeks.
