Love Story: Meet The Sherrods

A Q&A with an iconic couple of Huntsville

Love and marriage - few know how to make it last like these two. Meet Judge Martha Lynn Sherrod and husband of 43 years, Eddie Sherrod:

  1. Where and how did you two meet? We met on the campus of Alabama A&M University in Huntsville. I was on the campus for The Youth Motivation Task Force, a career development program, and he was coaching football. I was in line for lunch in Prentis Hall; the coaches came into the dining hall and Eddie Sherrod went to the head of the line.
  2. What's the biggest lesson you've learned in your marriage? Friendship is a key element of a lifelong relationship. Navigating life's seasons together creates unimagined bonds.
  3. What advice would you give to other couples? Marriage requires commitment. Staying together is hard work.
  4. What's your favorite thing about your spouse? He's a people person. He's never met a stranger and stops to talk to people anywhere and everywhere. He can hold a conversation with anyone. He dreams big enough for both of us.
