For our May “Ladies” issue, we wanted to hear from a group whose perspective on the women in their lives is refreshingly honest: kids. We asked students at Richardson Middle School to anonymously write down one thing they love about their moms. No overthinking, no editing — just a few handwritten words straight from the heart.
The responses were sweet, funny, and thoughtful. While we couldn’t share every note, the ones here offer a small glimpse into the gratitude kids feel for the women who care for them, guide them, and show up every day as caregivers, cheerleaders, chauffeurs, problem-solvers, and role models.
In a community filled with remarkable women, may these simple love notes remind every mom just how special the role she plays truly is.
